Kitchen Exhaust
Commercial exhaust hoods play a main function within a commercial kitchen by allowing for ventilation of hot air, smoke, and grease vapors away from and out of the kitchen, thus improving the safety and performance of a ventilation system. Commercial kitchen exhaust systems all contain the same basic components: vent hood, hood filters, ductwork, up blast fan. They also all have the same basic purpose: to remove heat, grease, steam, and odors out of the kitchen, and then return fresh, clean air back into it.
Kitchen Exhaust hoods are installed above your cooking appliances. A fan motorized by a motor spins as you cook, pulling air and any risky particles into the machine. The air travels through ductwork attached to the machine, which then shifts it outside. Kitchen hoods should be equipped with a make-up air device to certify that any air filtered out of the building is replaced.
